Towards the future
All our resources turned towards the future ...
Sun
SHEM produces renewable energy, but also uses it to reduce its own energy consumption.
In 2008 SHEM equipped its head office in Balma (Toulouse) with a hundred photovoltaic panels with a total power of 21.15 kW. They are deployed as a sunshade and significantly improve the building’s energy performance rating by producing 20 MWh of green energy every year.
Energy-saving solutions have been combined to approach the recommendations of the HEQ label (heat insulation for the structure, dual-flow air renewal, heat pumps, centralised management, etc.). In total, the building saves 45% of its energy consumption: a first in this type of production, which will have others following its lead.
Water
Developing new sites, continuing to renovate and modernise existing installations to meet environmental requirements, strengthening ties with the environment and partnerships with water users.
Still in its core business, SHEM seeks to invest in its historic regions. SHEM is pursuing its growth in the valleys, with the acquisition of its 51st power station, the Moulin de Datto in Licq-Atherey (Basque Country) in 2009.
Wind
SHEM is seeking to develop and acquire skills in wind energy in order to obtain efficient wind farms that operate in synergy with the hydraulic groups where it is established.
